How to Replace a Land Rover Battery
If your Land Rover displays a "SMARTKEY BATTERY LEAD" message on its instrument panel, it's time for a new battery. Follow these easy steps to get the job done!

Activity Key
The Land Rover Activity Key is an easier method to lock and unlock your vehicle. The wristband is wearable and replaces your traditional key fob, allowing you to live a full lifestyle without worrying that it will be lost or misplaced.
The Activity Key is available on all new Land Rover and Range Rover models. It works with your traditional smart key fob to open and lock your vehicle. The system uses an invisible sensor embedded into the bodywork (e.g. an alphabetic "J" in the tailgate script) to unlock the vehicle and reconnect the conventional key fob within the cabin.
First, shut off the engine of your car and then leave the key fob inside. When you've left, close all the doors. Then hold your Activity Key close to the Jaguar emblem on the tailgate for just a few minutes. This will activate the system's antennae and your hazards lights will flash to confirm that you're locked into.
When you are ready to return to the vehicle then press the tailgate release button to activate your antennae once more. This will enable the activity key to lock and unlock your vehicle, and your hazard lights will again flash to confirm that your smart key fob is not working until you return.
It's simple and quick. But, it's crucial that you note that the Activity Key will only be activated for 30 seconds if your vehicle is locked. It won't function effectively if you wait too long.
The Jaguar Activity Key can be used on the F-Pace and XF Sportbrake, E-Pace and I-Pace as well as the Discovery SUVs. It is compatible with all Land Rover models, including Discovery Sport, Velar and Range Rover Sport.
